2001 - A Space Odyssey er Stanley Kubricks imponerende, Oscar®-vindende* mesterværk, der på ypperlig vis skildrer kampen mellem mennesket og maskinerne, og som dristigt og medrivende lader musik og bevægelse gå op i en højere enhed. Kubrick (som skrev filmmanuskriptet sammen med Arthur C.
