French Connection II (1975)
Da dem New Yorker Detective Jimmy Popeye Doyle der Drogenboss Alain Charnier in seiner Heimatstadt knapp entkommen ist, folgt er dem Gangster nach Marseille. Er soll dort mit dem französischen Polizisten Henri Barthelemy zusammenarbeiten, mit dem er jedoch einige Meinungsverschiedenheiten und Probleme bekommt. Da Doyle sich bewusst sehr auffällig verhält, weiß Charnier bald, dass dieser sich in der Stadt aufhält. Nachdem Popeye zwei Polizisten, die ihn mehrere Tage beschattet haben, abgeschüttelt hat, wird er von den Handlangern Charniers entführt und in dessen Quartier in einem verlassenen Hotel gebracht. Während der dreiwöchigen Gefangennahme wird Doyle Heroin-abhängig gemacht. Alain Charnier lässt Popeye jedoch, nachdem er ihn drogenabhängig zerstört sieht und merkt, dass dieser nichts gegen ihn in der Hand hat, wieder frei.
